Mosaic - bohemian mixture 50g sealed tin (Coming Early 2027)
 
With "Mosaic", and similar mixtures, I have been referring to them as a "Bohemian" style, simply because these types of blends dont have an official name. (More on this below)
 
Mosaic is a complex mixture with the lead components being virginia, burley, and katerini orient, with condimental amounts of stoved virginia, perique, cigar leaf, and latakia. Mosaic is a little hard to describe. This is a multi-layered blend with a FULL flavor profile, with tasting notes that are leathery, fragrant, with toasty nuttiness. If one really hunts, youll find a dry molasses presence, powdered cocoa, spice and zest. Its a meaty smoke, without being harsh.
 
Why Bohemian? For as long as I can remember pipesfolk have been classifying this type of blend as a "kitchen sink" type mix. But with some of the legendary true artisinal blenders creating some real masterpieces over the years, these types of blends are deserving of a more affectionate and appropriate name. I use "Bohemian" due the history that it carries. In the 19th century, the term began to be associated with artists, writers, and musicians - intellectuals, and unconventional people who embrace artistic freedom, independence, and a rejection of conventional social expectations. I felt like this is a perfect way to describe these types of blends that are a little on the outside of the norm in our hobby.
